The hospital
Also known as Bethune Third Hospital of Jilin University, the China-Japan Union Hospital is a Grade 3A general hospital with a full stomatology department, at No. 126 Xiantai Street in the Changchun Economic and Technological Development Zone. Enquiries go through 0431-84995114.
A reconstruction-heavy department
Seven dentists are named, and the centre of gravity is reconstructive oral and maxillofacial surgery. The head of department works on fibula flap defect repair, jaw fracture fixation, maxillofacial tumour resection, sinus lift, ridge splitting, bone grafting and full-arch implants. Two deputy heads take the restorative side: one on implant and denture prosthodontics with porcelain veneers and all-ceramic crowns, the other on implant-supported dentures with oral and maxillofacial surgery and endodontics. Further clinicians cover periodontal disease, minimally invasive alveolar surgery, complex wisdom teeth and digital implant restoration.
Listed instruments
The equipment list is short: an operating dental microscope, a maxillofacial cone-beam CT, an ultrasonic bone scalpel, a dedicated implant system and a PRF centrifuge for platelet-rich fibrin. The microscope is what sets this department apart.
Getting there
The campus sits in the development zone rather than central Changchun, so allow for the transfer from the airport or station. The service list also covers crowns, bridges, veneers, dentures, root canal treatment and orthodontics.
