The hospital
The First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University was founded in 1903 and is a large tertiary Grade 3A hospital. It operates the National Respiratory Medical Centre and is structured across three main campuses, Yanjiang in Yuexiu District, Datansha in Liwan District and Haiyin in Haizhu District, plus the Hengqin campus in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone. The hospital was selected in the first batch of Guangdong's international medical service pilot hospitals, the scheme that opened published pricing for overseas patients.

Sub-specialties cover oral medicine, oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, implant prosthodontics, oral mucosal disease, and preventive dental care. The department has used Swiss ITI and German Ankylos implant systems since 2006.
