The hospital
The First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University is a Grade 3A general teaching hospital combining clinical care, teaching, research and international medical services, and is one of China's larger multi-campus institutions. Its campuses include Yuanjiagang (the main campus, in Yuzhong District), Jingwei, Jinshan, Dalitang and Qinggang.
Dental care
Dental care sits in the Department of Stomatology, whose registered dentists cover endodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics, implants and orthodontics. Dentistry is based at the main campuses, while the Jinshan International Medical Center can arrange specialist dental appointments through its own clinic.
Visiting as a foreign patient
The International Medical Center at Jinshan Campus is where foreign patients are looked after. It occupies floors 17-18 of the general inpatient building, with 32 private rooms including suites, and an outpatient clinic on the 4th floor. Care follows a general practitioner management plus specialist treatment plus multidisciplinary team consultation model, with fast-track access to senior specialists across departments. There is a 24/7 bilingual hotline and direct billing with international insurance. Registration through WeChat asks you to select passport as your ID type, and the hospital states that its international service staff speak English fluently, that all signage is bilingual, and that handheld translation devices are available for less common languages. Payment accepted includes Visa and MasterCard, Alipay and WeChat, as well as direct billing by commercial insurance.
