The hospital
The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University was founded in 1928 and describes itself as the largest Grade 3A hospital in China. It operates four campuses; the Zhengdong (East) campus on Longhu Zhonghuan Road is designated for emergency medical rescue, special-needs and high-end care, while the Heyi campus is the main complex-disease centre. The hospital has 25 national clinical key specialties and is rated A+ in the national public-hospital performance assessment.
Dental care
Dental services sit in the Department of Stomatology, which contains the Stomatology Centre plus a separate University Road dental clinic. The centre brings together two oral and maxillofacial surgery departments, oral medicine (with endodontics, periodontology, paediatric dentistry and oral mucosal disease), implant and prosthodontic dentistry, and orthodontics. Oral and maxillofacial surgery is a long-standing strength, with an inpatient ward of 41 approved beds and more than 2,000 operations a year, focused on head and neck tumours, vascular malformations, complex infection, salivary gland disease, cleft lip and palate and facial trauma.
Visiting as a foreign patient
The hospital publishes a full English-language section of its website and highlights international communicative competence in its own introduction. Several clinicians on the official dental roster have documented overseas training, notably a visiting scholar at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry and another at Ruhr University in Germany.
Practical notes
Appointments are made through the hospital's WeChat services, its app or on site, with the reservation line on +86 371 118114. Bring your passport for registration. The hospital publishes a price-disclosure section rather than a dental price list.
