The hospital
Founded in 1947, the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine is the earliest affiliated hospital of the university's school of medicine. It describes itself as a large, modern, top-tier tertiary general hospital combining medical care, education and research, with almost 5,000 inpatient beds and more than 10 million outpatient and emergency visits in 2025, and it has been rated A++ in China's tertiary public hospital evaluation for seven consecutive years.
Dental care
The department directory lists Stomatology as a full department, so general dentistry, oral surgery and specialist oral care are available on site. Dental treatment for international patients is arranged through the International Healthcare Center rather than a separate stand-alone dental clinic; the mix of dental surgeons working inside the Center is best confirmed when you book, as is whether you will be seen there or in the main stomatology department.
Visiting as a foreign patient
Overseas patients are looked after by the International Healthcare Center, a dedicated platform for international and high-end medical services occupying its own building of roughly 20,000 square metres at the Yuhang headquarters campus, and the only medical institution in Zhejiang Province approved for a pilot pricing reform of international medical services. It provides international outpatient and inpatient services plus imaging including 3.0 MRI, CT and PET-CT, with an elite team of English-speaking doctors and nurses and full English medical records, reports and imaging summaries.

Direct billing is available for a long published list of international insurers; if your insurer is not listed and you do not accept the Center's rates, call 0571-87236309 to be booked as a regular patient.
