The hospital
Peking University Third Hospital is a tertiary Grade A general hospital under the National Health Commission, founded in 1958 and best known nationally for assisted reproduction and orthopaedics. It is in Haidian District, Beijing.
Dental care
The Department of Stomatology has existed since the hospital opened in 1958 and covers oral medicine — endodontics, periodontics, oral mucosal disease, paediatric dentistry and prevention — alongside oral and maxillofacial surgery, prosthodontics, orthodontics, oral imaging and implant dentistry. It works across five sites: the main campus plus the Airport, Northern, Party School and Second Outpatient branch clinics, so you can be seen outside the main hospital if that is closer to you.
Visiting as a foreign patient
The hospital set up its International Medical Department in 2023 to serve both domestic and international patients, offering high-end one-stop outpatient and inpatient care, appointments with specially invited renowned experts, and nurse-accompanied guidance throughout the visit. It sits on the 5th floor of the Health Medicine Centre and has its own independent imaging and examination areas including CT, MRI, ultrasound and ECG, along with dental equipment, so most of your work-up happens in one place.
Practical notes
Under China's special-medical-service policy the International Medical Department sets its own prices, charges more than basic medical services, and cannot be settled through Chinese medical insurance. Outside the department, general dental appointments run through the 114 platform, the hospital's own app and its WeChat service account. The main switchboard is +86 10 82266699; the International Medical Department appointment line is +86 10 82265553.
