The department
Qilu Hospital of Shandong University is a Grade 3A teaching hospital in Jinan, Shandong, and its dental service is a full department at the Central Campus on Wenhua West Road. Eight dentists are named, and the first of them sets the tone: Shaohua Liu, an M.D. and Ph.D. professor, heads the department, working in maxillofacial tumours, trauma, repair and reconstruction.
Two sides of the practice
One side is surgery. Chen Anwei covers head and neck medical oncology, orthognathic surgery and jaw defect reconstruction. Zuoqing Dong handles impacted teeth and alveolar surgery, and reconstruction of complex maxillofacial fractures. The other is routine and paediatric: Chunling Jia treats early-childhood malocclusion and takes a conservative line on caries, while Guixiang Liu does whitening and cosmetic anterior restoration.
Equipment list
Six devices are listed, and one matters more than the rest. The chairside 3D printing system puts fabrication at the chair rather than in a distant laboratory, shortening turn-around on a crown — useful on a fixed travel schedule. The rest are a cone-beam CT, a digital panoramic unit, a root canal operating microscope, a CAD/CAM system and a powered bone instrumentation set.
Before you travel
No direct number is published for the department, so contact runs through the hospital's general channels or its English website. As the dental service sits inside a large teaching hospital, confirm which building on Wenhua West Road you are expected in.
