The hospital
Qingdao Stomatological Hospital was founded in 1987 and is a Grade 3A dental specialty hospital directly under the Qingdao Municipal Health Commission. It is the affiliated hospital of Qingdao University, a national residency training base, and a discipline-development consortium member with Peking University School of Stomatology, with friendly collaborations with the University of Virginia, UNC Chapel Hill and the University of Rochester Eastman Institute for Oral Health. It has 11 dental clinical departments and six auxiliary departments, 280 dental chairs and 50 authorised beds.
Dental care
Full-scope dentistry is provided across ten main disciplines: endodontics, paediatric dentistry, periodontology, prosthodontics, implantology, oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, oral mucosal disease, preventive dentistry and geriatric dentistry. The hospital runs a Special Needs Clinic, a Medical Healthcare Centre for elderly and special-needs patients, an oral multidisciplinary clinic, an aesthetic studio, a comfort-treatment clinic and a cardiac-monitoring clinic. Specialised technology includes microscopic root-canal therapy, digital full-arch dentures, digital implantology and implant robotics.
