The dental hospital

Shandong Provincial Stomatological Hospital is a standalone dental hospital at No. 586 Jingqi Road in central Jinan, the dental arm of the larger Shandong Provincial Hospital on Jingqiweiqi Road. Eleven dentists are named, and the specialty is unambiguous: executive president Dongsheng Zhang works in oral and maxillofacial malignancy, minimally invasive implant restoration and craniomaxillofacial implants, and most of the roster around him does the same.

Where the work is strongest

Oncology dominates. Zhang Weidong works in integrated head and neck tumour treatment and in I-125 seed implant brachytherapy; Li Wengang and Hongbo Zhao treat oral and maxillofacial tumours with microsurgical reconstruction. Not all of it is surgical: Zhimin Wei treats malocclusion, limited mouth opening and non-surgical snoring — a jaw and airway practice most oral surgery departments do not foreground.

Planning and printing

The published equipment is planning and reconstruction hardware rather than chairs: 3D-printed surgical templates, computer-assisted orthognathic surgery, and CAD/CAM with rapid prototyping for tissue flap transfer. The centrepiece is 3D-printed titanium used to rebuild the maxilla after tumour surgery, plus navigation with molecular fluorescence guidance for the mandible.

Two addresses

It has a route in for overseas patients that most do not: an International Medical Services line on 86-531-68772888 and 86-531-68772889, separate from the main switchboard on 0531-87938911. Confirm which of the two sites your appointment is at.
