The hospital
Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital is a Grade 3A hospital of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. Its dental arm, the College of Stomatology, is widely regarded as one of the strongest oral-medicine institutions in China, which is why patients travel to it for work that other hospitals would rather refer on.
Dental care
Dental and maxillofacial services span implants, orthodontics, prosthodontics, periodontics, paediatric dentistry and oral-maxillofacial surgery, covering the full range of dental and maxillofacial subspecialties. The breadth matters most for complex implant, orthodontic and maxillofacial cases, where several of these services need to work together.
Visiting as a foreign patient
The hospital operates an international medical department and publishes a separate international enquiry mailbox at international@sh9hospital.com, so you can ask about your case before you travel. Confirm appointment rules, language support and insurance arrangements directly with the hospital when you make contact, since these are arranged case by case.

The main south campus is at 639 Zhizaoju Road in Huangpu District, Shanghai, with a further campus in Pudong.
