The hospital

Xiangya Stomatological Hospital is a standalone dental hospital on Xiangya Road in Kaifu District, Changsha, affiliated to Central South University rather than sitting inside a general hospital. That independence shows in the roster: eight dentists are named, and six hold a department chair or a leadership post, including the hospital president and the heads of orthodontics, periodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, prosthodontics and endodontics.

Clinical focus

Patients are routed to a subspecialty. Oncology and trauma sit with Tang Zhanggui, who runs the hospital, and Hu Yanjia, whose listed work includes high-risk tooth extraction, immediate implant placement and alveoloplasty. Prosthodontics runs through Li Yiping, working on full-mouth and aesthetic restoration, and Zhou Hongbo, who heads the prosthodontics and implant centre. Wang Xiangzhu heads endodontics, listed for microscopic root canal treatment, retrieval of separated instruments, and calcified and curved canals.

Imaging and printing

The most distinctive capability is 3D printing. A CAD/CAM and 3D-printing system produces surgical guides, digital prosthetics and 3D-printed mandibular reconstruction — an advantage in implant planning and in rebuilding bone after tumour surgery. A cone-beam CT handles implant assessment and TMJ diagnosis, and a surgical operating microscope serves the endodontic work.
